Expensify Style violation: Button label terminology issue. The text references "Enter bank details manually" as appearing "at the bottom of the screen," but this needs verification. If this is actually a button or link label in the UI, ensure it matches the exact UI text. If it's a clickable element, consider using UI formatting like Enter bank details manually to make it clear it's an interactive element.

HelpDot Documentation Review

Overall Assessment

This PR updates the U.S. bank account connection documentation to reflect a new feature allowing manual entry of bank details as an alternative to Plaid. The changes are well-structured and clearly communicate the two connection methods available to users.

Scores Summary

  • Readability: 9/10 - Clear, concise, and well-organized content with excellent logical flow. The bullet point format makes options easy to scan and understand.
  • AI Readiness: 8/10 - Good descriptive headings and clear context. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow. Minor improvement opportunity: the heading still mentions only Plaid when two methods now exist.
  • Style Compliance: 9/10 - Excellent use of Expensify terminology and proper markdown formatting. Instructions follow the established pattern with appropriate emphasis on UI elements.

Key Findings

Strengths:

  • Clear differentiation between automatic and manual connection methods
  • Maintains consistent instructional style with existing documentation
  • Proper use of bold formatting for UI elements (Account, Wallet, Bank Accounts, Plaid)
  • Step-by-step instructions remain easy to follow
  • Natural language that is accessible to all users

Minor Observations:

  • The section heading Add a U.S. Bank Account remains generic, which works well but the introductory sentence could be slightly refined
  • The phrase Select Enter bank details manually at the bottom of the screen could benefit from bold formatting on the button/link text for consistency
  • The change from your account will appear to your bank will appear is more accurate terminology

Recommendations

Optional Improvements:

  1. Consider bolding Enter bank details manually in step 4 for UI consistency
  2. The phrase Securely link your bank account using your login credentials could be simplified to Securely link using your online banking credentials for brevity
  3. Consider whether the introductory paragraph should acknowledge both methods upfront (current approach is good)

Overall Recommendation: Approve - This is high-quality documentation that clearly explains the new feature. The changes are accurate, well-written, and maintain consistency with existing help articles. The optional improvements listed above are minor polish items that do not block approval.

The changes look good to me. However, I think it could be valuable to mention that the user has to enter their name, address, and phone number alongside their US bank account to process payments, if it's not already on file. That's a new change from this issue too.

@bfitzexpensify looks like this was merged without a test passing. Please add a note explaining why this was done and remove the Emergency label if this is not an emergency.
