Explanation of Change

p1 p2

2.6 Eligibility & Rendering

UX Flow
When the user opens the Wallet screen:

  • If they are on a domain with Travel Invoicing enabled and are travel‑enabled for that workspace, they see a “Travel booking CVV” section under Wallet.
  • If not eligible, the section does not render.

Data & Onyx
Eligibility is derived from:

  • session / betas via useOnyx(ONYXKEYS.SESSION) and useOnyx(ONYXKEYS.BETAS) (e.g., domain, betas).
  • The policy/Travel feed (if needed) via useOnyx(ONYXKEYS.COLLECTION.POLICY) or a domain settings key that marks users as travel‑enabled.

We store only:

  • isRevealed, isLoading, and CVV in local component state.
  • No CVV is persisted in Onyx.

Components & reuse
New component: We add WalletTravelCVVSection to the Wallet screen (responsible for eligibility, actions, and local state), but it reuses the CVV row UI refactored out of the existing Expensify Card implementation from PR #59541. This lets us keep a Travel‑specific container while sharing the exact same visual/interaction pattern as the card CVV row.

It uses a new shared component extracted from the existing Expensify Card detail screen:

  • SensitiveInfoRow (generic “reveal secret” row).
  • Props include label, description, masked value (e.g., •••), optional revealed value, loading and click handlers.

Testing
Component tests:

  • For a non‑eligible user, WalletTravelCVVSection renders nothing.
  • For an eligible user, it shows the masked CVV row with a “Reveal” button.

2.7 Reveal CVV Flow

UX Flow

  • Within WalletTravelCVVSection:
    • By default, we show a masked CVV (e.g., •••) with “Reveal” as the action.
  • When the user taps “Reveal”:
    • We set isLoading state.
    • Call the reveal CVV action.
    • On success:
      • We set the cvv in the local state.
      • Mark isRevealed as true and shows the plaintext CVV.
      • Provide a “Copy” button using the existing clipboard utility.
  • When the Wallet screen unmounts:
    • We reset the local state so the CVV is masked again on the next visit.

💡 Note: We intentionally do not auto‑mask on a timer; this matches Expensify Card’s current behavior (no time‑based hiding once revealed). The CVV becomes hidden again on navigation/unmount.

Actions
In src/libs/actions/TravelInvoicing.ts, we’ll add revealTravelCVV({policyID, accountID}) which will have the following attributes:

  • This is a thin wrapper around the existing RevealExpensifyCardDetails command (no new backend command is added).
  • We pass the Travel Invoicing virtual card identifier (the card created for the PROGRAM_TRAVEL_US feed for the current user) into RevealExpensifyCardDetails.
  • Although RevealExpensifyCardDetails can return other card details, revealTravelCVV will only resolve the CVV field and will not expose or store PAN or other sensitive fields.
  • The returned CVV is stored only in local component state in WalletTravelCVVSection and never persisted in Onyx or logs.

Components & reuse
For the visual treatment and interaction of the CVV reveal, WalletTravelCVVSection will reuse the same pattern already implemented for Expensify Card CVV display:

  • The existing CVV row implementation in src/pages/settings/Wallet/ExpensifyCardPage.tsx and src/WalletPage/CardDetails.tsx (and the way it’s surfaced from pages/settings/Wallet/PaymentMethodList.tsx) will be refactored into a small shared CVV row component (e.g. CardSecurityCodeRow).
    • WalletTravelCVVSection will render that shared CVV row with a different label (“Travel booking CVV”) and will wire its onReveal callback to the Travel Invoicing action instead of the card action.
    • This guarantees that the Travel CVV UI looks and behaves exactly like existing card CVV reveal, and avoids introducing a one‑off row component.

WalletTravelCVVSection:

  • Uses this shared CardSecurityCodeRow with:
    • Label: translate('travelInvoicing.travelCVVTitle') (e.g., “Travel booking CVV”).
    • Optional description explaining the purpose (“Use this CVV when a hotel or rental car requests card verification for your company’s travel invoice”).
    • Masked value (•••) until we have a CVV from the action.
    • “Reveal” button and “Copy” button are wired to revealTravelCVV and the existing clipboard utility.

Testing
Component tests:

  • Tapping “Reveal” sets isLoading and calls revealTravelCVV.
  • When the mocked action resolves with "123", the component shows "123" and a “Copy” action.
  • On unmount (simulated), the component returns to its initial masked state when remounted.

Tests

Important

The feature is currently Dev/Adhoc-Build/Staging-locked and uses the first available card (Expensify Card) despite not having isTravelCard undefined - this was done on purpose to allow testing.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure the account has either ALL or TRAVEL_INVOICING betas enabled
  • For Dev/Staging Testing: Thanks to the isTravelCVVTestingEnabled flag, you can test with any assigned card if you don't have a specific Travel Card - just ensure you have at least one Expensify Card assigned on your email address in Settings > Wallet (must be Expensify Card)

Test 1: Navigation & UI Verification

  1. Go to Settings > Wallet.
  2. Verify that the Travel CVV menu item appears in the "Assigned Cards" section at the bottom.
    • Note: If testing on Dev/Staging without a real Travel Card, the testing fallback will display this item as long as you have one Expensify card assigned
  3. Click on Travel CVV.
  4. Verify the Travel CVV RHP page opens with:
  • Header: "Travel CVV" with a back button.
  • Illustration: The luggage/travel illustration.
  • Description: Text explaining the card's purpose.
  • CVV Section: Displays ••• and a "Reveal details" button.

Test 2: CVV Reveal Flow

  1. On the Travel CVV page, click Reveal details.
  2. Verify that a magic code input appears in the RHP.
  3. Enter the magic code received via email.
  4. Success State:
  • Verify the magic code input disappears
  • Verify the ••• is replaced by the actual CVV number from the server response.
  • Verify the "Reveal details" button is hidden.
  • Copy Test:
    • Web: Hovering over the CVV field will make the copy button appear on the right side -> click to copy CVV
    • Mobile: Long-press on the CVV field in order to copy the CVV value (this aligns with Expensify Card - Reveal details - CVV field)

Test 3: Navigation Persistence (Refresh)

  1. Navigate to the Travel CVV page (RHP).
  2. Refresh the browser page.
  3. Verify that you stay on the Travel CVV page and are NOT redirected to the Inbox/Home page behin the RHP.
  • Verify that no errors appear in the JS console

Offline tests

Test 4: Offline Behavior

  1. Open the Travel CVV page (RHP).
  2. Disconnect from the internet (enable offline mode).
  3. Verify that the FullPageOfflineBlockingView activates, blocking access to the sensitive page content and showing the "You appear to be offline." message.

QA Steps

Same as tests.

  • Verify that no errors appear in the JS console

PR Author Checklist

  • I linked the correct issue in the ### Fixed Issues section above
  • I wrote clear testing steps that cover the changes made in this PR
    • I added steps for local testing in the Tests section
    • I added steps for the expected offline behavior in the Offline steps section
    • I added steps for Staging and/or Production testing in the QA steps section
    • I added steps to cover failure scenarios (i.e. verify an input displays the correct error message if the entered data is not correct)
    • I turned off my network connection and tested it while offline to ensure it matches the expected behavior (i.e. verify the default avatar icon is displayed if app is offline)
    • I tested this PR with a High Traffic account against the staging or production API to ensure there are no regressions (e.g. long loading states that impact usability).
  • I included screenshots or videos for tests on all platforms
  • I ran the tests on all platforms & verified they passed on:
    • Android: Native
    • Android: mWeb Chrome
    • iOS: Native
    • iOS: mWeb Safari
    • MacOS: Chrome / Safari
  • I verified there are no console errors (if there's a console error not related to the PR, report it or open an issue for it to be fixed)
  • I verified there are no new alerts related to the canBeMissing param for useOnyx
  • I followed proper code patterns (see Reviewing the code)
    • I verified that any callback methods that were added or modified are named for what the method does and never what callback they handle (i.e. toggleReport and not onIconClick)
    • I verified that comments were added to code that is not self explanatory
    • I verified that any new or modified comments were clear, correct English, and explained "why" the code was doing something instead of only explaining "what" the code was doing.
    • I verified any copy / text shown in the product is localized by adding it to src/languages/* files and using the translation method
    • I verified all numbers, amounts, dates and phone numbers shown in the product are using the localization methods
    • I verified any copy / text that was added to the app is grammatically correct in English. It adheres to proper capitalization guidelines (note: only the first word of header/labels should be capitalized), and is either coming verbatim from figma or has been approved by marketing (in order to get marketing approval, ask the Bug Zero team member to add the Waiting for copy label to the issue)
    • I verified proper file naming conventions were followed for any new files or renamed files. All non-platform specific files are named after what they export and are not named "index.js". All platform-specific files are named for the platform the code supports as outlined in the README.
    • I verified the JSDocs style guidelines (in STYLE.md) were followed
  • If a new code pattern is added I verified it was agreed to be used by multiple Expensify engineers
  • I followed the guidelines as stated in the Review Guidelines
  • I tested other components that can be impacted by my changes (i.e. if the PR modifies a shared library or component like Avatar, I verified the components using Avatar are working as expected)
  • I verified all code is DRY (the PR doesn't include any logic written more than once, with the exception of tests)
  • I verified any variables that can be defined as constants (ie. in CONST.ts or at the top of the file that uses the constant) are defined as such
  • I verified that if a function's arguments changed that all usages have also been updated correctly
  • If any new file was added I verified that:
    • The file has a description of what it does and/or why is needed at the top of the file if the code is not self explanatory
  • If a new CSS style is added I verified that:
    • A similar style doesn't already exist
    • The style can't be created with an existing StyleUtils function (i.e. StyleUtils.getBackgroundAndBorderStyle(theme.componentBG))
  • If new assets were added or existing ones were modified, I verified that:
    • The assets are optimized and compressed (for SVG files, run npm run compress-svg)
    • The assets load correctly across all supported platforms.
  • If the PR modifies code that runs when editing or sending messages, I tested and verified there is no unexpected behavior for all supported markdown - URLs, single line code, code blocks, quotes, headings, bold, strikethrough, and italic.
  • If the PR modifies a generic component, I tested and verified that those changes do not break usages of that component in the rest of the App (i.e. if a shared library or component like Avatar is modified, I verified that Avatar is working as expected in all cases)
  • If the PR modifies a component related to any of the existing Storybook stories, I tested and verified all stories for that component are still working as expected.
  • If the PR modifies a component or page that can be accessed by a direct deeplink, I verified that the code functions as expected when the deeplink is used - from a logged in and logged out account.
  • If the PR modifies the UI (e.g. new buttons, new UI components, changing the padding/spacing/sizing, moving components, etc) or modifies the form input styles:
    • I verified that all the inputs inside a form are aligned with each other.
    • I added Design label and/or tagged @Expensify/design so the design team can review the changes.
  • If a new page is added, I verified it's using the ScrollView component to make it scrollable when more elements are added to the page.
  • I added unit tests for any new feature or bug fix in this PR to help automatically prevent regressions in this user flow.
  • If the main branch was merged into this PR after a review, I tested again and verified the outcome was still expected according to the Test steps.

Hey, I noticed you changed src/languages/en.ts in a PR from a fork. For security reasons, translations are not generated automatically for PRs from forks.

If you want to automatically generate translations for other locales, an Expensify employee will have to:

  1. Look at the code and make sure there are no malicious changes.
  2. Run the Generate static translations GitHub workflow. If you have write access and the K2 extension, you can simply click: [this button]

Alternatively, if you are an external contributor, you can run the translation script locally with your own OpenAI API key. To learn more, try running:

npx ts-node ./scripts/generateTranslations.ts --help

Typically, you'd want to translate only what you changed by running npx ts-node ./scripts/generateTranslations.ts --compare-ref main

@Expensify/design We might need a themed illustration for dark theme on this one:

Dark Light
Screenshot 2026-01-17 at 19 13 01 Screenshot 2026-01-17 at 19 12 36

I wasn't able to get the dark-theme-friendly variant from Figma, the design screens show [Light] and I wasn't able to toggle to [Dark] (not sure this is even possible):

I don't think it is a good idea to add this provider here. It will increase the app TTI time. This CVV is only needed in workspace settings so we should move this down the chain.

I think it's all good / completely expected and already present in other flows (e.g. Expensify card) where this was inspired by, see this comment for details.

@ikevin127 I don't see the Card and CVV. I enabled all betas.

@parasharrajat Try changing the Permissions.ts function locally to:

function canUseAllBetas(betas: OnyxEntry<Beta[]>): boolean {
    return Array.isArray(betas);
}

Otherwise not sure what's the issue on your side - I just checked with test account on ngrok which has all betas enabled (incl. recent travel invoicing one) and it shows:
