Might as well stop Samba too. I figure that it doesn't hurt to be proactive & make a best effort before unmounting the USB drive(s).

Sorry for the delay, was playing with the log file check. This is approved, it's why i sent you the previous links, figured if you were gonna go down the stopping of nasapps may as well stop the others :) Happy you found the info haha. Merged, don't even need to second guess, looks good :) |
No worries. I actually went and took a break, then had dinner, watched some TV, talked with my wife, etc.
Yeah, one post reminded me of Samba running on the router. I've never used it myself since I already have 2 small NASes (Synology & QNAP), but I've read that the Samba service can be quite taxing on the router's CPU & RAM resources, so yeah thanks for the links. |
As always, cleanup, flash, reboot, and the cleanup can for sure be one of the most important steps! |

Any thoughts on: "ejusb -1 0 -u 1" ? First Parameter (disk_port): This specifies which disk port you are referring to. -1: Refers to all ports. 0: Do not restart NAS applications. -u: This is used for holding or unplugging the disk after unmount jobs are done. The default value is 1. |
I've never used this command so I don't know exactly how it works & what they mean by "NAS applications." |
I was actually kinda hoping you had more information on it lol. |
I'd say let's "put it in our back pocket" for now until we find out. I think we have other wrinkles to iron out first. |
Might as well stop Samba too. I figure that it doesn't hurt to be proactive & make a best-effort attempt at a "clean slate" before unmounting the USB drive(s).
