Open Source Cloud (OSC) by Eyevinn Technology is our cloud offering where you can easily find, activate, and run hosted open-source components from Eyevinn and other sources. The open-source components, hosted at close to cost-price, are easily managed through the portal.
All components available on Open Source Cloud are also ready packaged as Docker containers and accessible for free installation in any cloud for self-hosting. Start quick on Open Source Cloud and move the component over to your own cloud at any time.

Quick start guide to set up a hosted OSC service includes the following steps:

Create an Open Source Cloud portal account

Create a tenant for you and your organization. You are now automatically assigned to the Basic plan with is for free.

You can now browse to the desired component and click the component card to enter the detailed view.

Create and start the OSC component service, whether it is setting up a new FAST channel, starting a test tool, or setting up a transcoding queue. Each component has its own start process.

On the Basic plan you are limited to be running only one OSC component service and instance at the time. If you wish to be running more you need to enter the billing details for invoicing and once approved you can upgrade to any of the paid plans.
This guide provides instructions to create a new OSC account and subscribe to your first Eyevinn Open Source service.
Open Source Cloud is a multi-tenant environment where you can easily manage your own subscriptions and those of the organizations you are a part of.
User accounts are created at https://app.osaas.io/ by signing up with an email address. The log in link is emailed and the signed in session is token based and passwordless.
Tenant is created and payment details managed in the portal.

Using Open Source Cloud portal is very straightforward. Access OSC components from the left menu bar.
- “Tenant” lists the components you are currently having active.
- “Browse” gives access to all OSaaS components available on the Eyevinn OSC portal. From here you can search for new components to subscribe to.
- “Tenant Management” for Tenant owners and administrators. Here you enter billing details for invoicing, find the current open bill and manage your subscription plans.

Each OSC component is highlighted in a separate card displaying its name, short description and a few genre boxes. Each card also has a heart icon which lets the user bookmark OSC components in the “Saved” list. The € icons on each OSaaS component card indicates the hosting fee. One € indicates a low fee, €€ indicates a medium fee, and €€€ indicates a high fee. As the hosting fees are close to cost-price, a higher fee indicates a higher resource usage.
For more information about an OSaaS component, or to subscribe to it, the detail view can be accessed by clicking the component card. Once in the detailed view, there is more information about the OSC component such as the author and price. More information about the component can be found in the About section.

If you find that one of the open source projects that we have made available as a service is one of the projects you own and maintain you can claim the ownership and get a share of the revenue your service(s) generates. Follow the steps below to claim ownership.
- Sign up for an Open Source Cloud account if you don't already have one.
- Click on the menu item Settings on the left. Select the tab GitHub and connect your account with GitHub by clicking the button Connect to GitHub.
- When your account is connected with GitHub you will get a list of GitHub organization that you own. Enable the organization that holds the open source project you want to claim.
- If everything checks out you will get a notification that the open source project is now claimed by you. To show what projects you own you go to the tab My services on the Tenant page.
