XHDD.SYS failure

I'm not a dev. I'm just a stupid user. Not sure what's causing it. Previous kernel version (2042) worked fine. After I replaced kernel for a new one "XHDD.SYS /H /B" is resulting in a system freeze. I have to remove this line from FDCONFIG.SYS to be able to use my PC.
