Have you already looked around for some extensions? |
|
I haven't but I merely proposed as an additional idea. I actually wouldn't know if there's any extensions that works for this but I'll be happy to look around and get back. In the meantime feel free to share if you find any or get any ideas or someone else might share theirs. Edit: Okay, so finally had a little time to go through and look around for something. I did not find anything comprehensive enough on the level I was looking for, at least for Mozilla/Firefox. But for chrome I did find a few extensions.
3rd is more of an informative option rather than an extension. But goes to show what all they are supposedly spoofing. It also has some tools which give some insight into why spoofing is more privacy aggressive than simply blocking/protecting against fingerprint tracking. For ex, in webengine hardening we have an option for timezone spoofing which defaults to using the GMT timezone. While the IP address itself is not spoofed per se, the result is that "vpn": true, I know VPN detection is much more robust but a timezone mismatch is one of the primitive basic way to flag such traffic to be from a VPN. I know the example is a bit terrible and I can hardly see how to spoof IP address matching with the timezone. But the 1st two are more of what I was thinking of. |
Uh oh!

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
We have a system of protection but I was curious if WebLibre could benefit more with a fingerprint spoofing system as well. It perhaps doesn't have to spoof a lot of everything but some of the most basic stuff. People could use that for some of the untrested sites.
Describe the solution you'd like
With this option I don't want my device/user specific metadata to simply be protected from being collected. Rather than that, I'd want it anonymized and spoofed.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Can't think of any.
