Slack integration fails with 'No Cloud Templates configured' when only BYOM computers are available #958

Bug

When mentioning @Factory in a Slack channel/thread, the bot responds with:

⚠️ No Cloud Templates configured
Your organization does not have any Cloud Templates set up yet. Create one and try again.

This happens even when BYOM (Bring Your Own Machine) computers are registered, active, and have Remote Access enabled.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Register a BYOM computer via droid computer register and confirm it shows as active with droid computer list
  2. Enable Remote Access via the Factory desktop app (Settings → Droid Computers)
  3. Connect Slack integration (Settings → Integrations → Slack → Connected)
  4. Invite @Factory to a Slack channel
  5. Mention @Factory in a thread

Expected Behavior

Factory should offer to create a session using the available BYOM computer (or at minimum provide a link to create a session on the Factory web app where the Computer tab is available).

Actual Behavior

Factory errors with "No Cloud Templates configured" and does not fall back to BYOM computers.

Environment

  • Droid CLI: v0.101.0
  • Factory Desktop App: v0.57.0
  • macOS (Apple Silicon)
  • BYOM computers: 2 registered (Mac + VPS), both showing as active
  • Remote Access: enabled
  • Slack integration: connected
  • No Cloud Templates configured in the organization

Workaround

Creating sessions manually via the Factory web app works — the Computer tab is available and sessions can target BYOM machines. The Slack flow just does not expose this option.
