Describe the bug

My NuPhy Air75 v3 keyboard no longer works wirelessly (dongle)

This keyboard was previously already unusable in the bios / grub menu unless I put it in Mac mode

Steps To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Put keyboard in wireless more
2. Put dongle in any USB-A port
3. Keyboard does not work

Expected behavior

Keyboard works as with preivious bios

Workaround

Use the keyboard with a USB-C cable

Strangely, when the dongle is plugged in. The wired connection to the keyboard also stops working. Plugging in the dongle causes the super/windows key to be pressed all the time as my window manager no longer allows resizing windows and strange things happen.

I'm going to close this as I downgraded bios to 3.03 and things were still broken.

Upgraded keyboard firmware and retried binding the dongle (long FN-4 press) and seems to work again now.

Re-applied firmware 3.04 and again had binding issues and messed up input over the wireless dongle. So something is actually broken.

Your dmesg log shows the device disappearing at the end - that's when the actually unplug the dongle?
If that's only when you actually unplug the dongle, then I don't think it's a bios issue.
Once a USB device is recognized, the BIOS doesn't really have an effect on what happens anymore. This seems like it a keyboard or dongle, not a bios issue.

You can analyze what the Keyboard outputs by running: sudo libinput debug-events --show-keycodes

Once a USB device is recognized, the BIOS doesn't really have an effect on what happens anymore. This seems like it a keyboard or dongle, not a bios issue.

Indeed I unplugged the dongle on that last log line.

The dongle/keyboard works fine on my macbook and Framework 13 (Omarchy, kernel 6.17.9)

All I can say is that reverting the bios to 3.03 fixed the issues for me. I will close this for now. The more important issue for me is #138. Once that is fixed I might continue testing the keyboard and re-open the issue with more info.

I'm also not 100% convinced this keyboard firmware does what it should as it does not work in grub/in the bios when I set it up for Windows using the switch. Further dongle unbinding by a bios update is rather fishy. I have had more issues since the day I bought it. However I have been using it without issues the last few weeks.
