Position/format subtitles

Hello all,

I was wondering if there was a way to edit how the subtitles are displayed on a stream, and if there isn't one, to consider it for future work. I understand this is an open-source and volunteer project, and I greatly appreciate the time the maintainers put into this. If it is very low down the priority list, that is highly understandable.

I like to have the news on in the background as I work, muted and with subtitles. However, on several news feeds, the display location for the subtitles lies directly over the existing news ticker, making both very hard to read. A feature that allows you to reposition, resize, etc. the subtitle display area would be appreciated. This would allow me to force it into an area of the screen that doesn't conflict with the ticker or other elements. A slight stretch request would be to ask for the option to display it with a black bar (or whatever colour you want) behind the subtitles to improve readability.
