Moss 0.5.0 completes the first developer-experience milestone for the AI-designed and AI-built Moss programming language.

Highlights:

  • standalone Windows compiler, language server, and Moss Studio
  • stdio LSP diagnostics, symbols, and semantic tokens
  • TextMate syntax grammar
  • golden output tests and generated API/schema documentation
  • deterministic project tooling and verified Moss-written frontend preview

Moss remains experimental alpha software. It has begun self-hosting but is not fully self-hosted; the current standalone tools bundle the Python-based host runtime.

Windows users can choose the installer or portable ZIP. Python users can install the wheel or source distribution. Verify downloads with SHA256SUMS.txt.
