Description

When I removed the darnell pixel icon from assets/images/freeplay/icons, and then opened the Metadata toolbox from Chart Editor it crashed, tracing and debugging to find clues it gave me this result which is odd:

It sees an xml that is nonexistent

Steps to Reproduce

1. Remove the darnellpixel files from assets/images/freeplay/icons
2. Enter Chart Editor
3. Try Open the Metadata toolbox
4. crash

I believe this is just a general issue with the asset caching recently implemented in Polymod. If the asset existed before and is accessed, its "exists" state is stored and it will stay like that until you hot-reload.

Ideally we shouldn't expect deleting files like that to work before a hot-reload, but it would still stand as a problem if, for instance, a mod first checks if an asset exists and then tries to create one if it doesn't. Since the state is cached it will forever think it doesn't exist even after it's actually there.

How can it be polymod if i opened the game again, isnt the cache clear when i open a new instance without the sprite in the directory?
