I can't export desired resource because support for its type is not implemented yet

It would help to export animations that are stored as gltf file and make me happy

Unfortunately, I’m not sure if it’s even possible to recover the gltf animations accurately in situ when they’re imported as animation libraries, let alone implement it. One thing you can do to export the animations to a gltf file is to add the animations to a scene in the editor, then use “export to gltf” in the editor.

I have tried to export godot scene to gltf format and open it in blender, in result I get all NLA tracks present in AnimationLibrary file, but selecting one in Dope Sheet -> Action Editor I see empty tab (no bone channels with respective keys on timeline)

I know it might be out of scope of this project, but what about converting .tres files to gltf / fbx format?

The GLTF exporter AND the importer both require the original nodes/skeleton bones/etc. that the animation tracks are pointing to for it to be able to export/import the animations. However, importing a gltf as an animation library is a destructive process; the original scene that the animation library animated is discarded and only animations are kept. This means that, if we want to export an animation library as a GLTF, we’d need to recreate the scene (or at least the nodes that are animated).

There are a couple of approaches we could do, both of which would have a number of challenges:

1. recreate it from scenes that use the library. This would involve scanning every single scene in the project and finding the ones that actually use the library, then picking the best one, which would involve scanning all the animation tracks and determine if all are actually used so it doesn’t get discarded.

2. recreate it on the fly. I have no idea where to even start with this.

Both approaches would involve a huge amount of work and testing, and quite frankly, it’s more work than I’m willing to put in for a rarely used import type. I will happily offer help to anyone who wants to do it themselves and submit a PR.
