Quick Start
This is the short version. Do this first before reporting bugs.
Open your inventory and go to the Weapons section.
Use the PandaWorks AutoLoot Terminal.
This is the main setup terminal.
Go to the loot category/filter menus.
Turn on the categories you want PWAL to loot.
If a category is off, PWAL will not loot it.
That is intentional.
Go to the destination menus.
Choose where each loot category should go.
Supported destinations include:
- Player
- PandaWorks Inventory
- Player Ship Cargo
- Lodge Safe
- The Void, where available
Example setup:
- Weapons → Player
- Armor → Player
- Ammo → Player
- Aid → Player
- Resources → Player Ship Cargo
- Collectibles → Lodge Safe
- Junk → PandaWorks Inventory
- Contraband → PandaWorks Inventory
If you do not configure destinations, PWAL uses its default/backend routing rules.
Some items are forced to specific destinations for safety, gameplay, or engine reasons.
Supported space salvage is sent to Player Ship Cargo.
Find the looting toggle and turn looting on.
If looting is off, PWAL will not loot anything.
Again: not a bug. The panda is asleep because you told it to sleep.
Do a small test before going full loot goblin.
Recommended ground test:
- Enable one or two categories.
- Set their destinations.
- Enable looting.
- Stand near a few loose items or containers.
- Confirm items move where expected.
Do not start by enabling everything in a loot-heavy area and then panic when the system does exactly what it was built to do.
Space salvage is supported in version 1.1.2 and newer.
Confirmed supported space salvage includes:
- Asteroid deposits
- Space cargo
- Destroyed hostile ship debris
Recommended space salvage test:
- Make sure looting is enabled.
- Enter space with a valid home ship.
- Mine one asteroid deposit, collect one supported space cargo source, or destroy one hostile ship.
- Wait briefly for PWAL to process the salvage.
- Open Player Ship Cargo.
- Confirm the salvage was transferred there.
Space salvage does not go to player inventory by default. Check ship cargo.
PWAL includes a portable utility device.
Use it from your inventory to open the utility terminal.
The utility terminal gives quicker access to:
- PandaWorks Inventory
- Lodge Safe
- Player Ship Cargo
- Transfer utilities
- Looting toggle
- Logging toggle
The utility device is for convenience.
The main PandaWorks AutoLoot Terminal is still where you configure the full system.
Check this before reporting a bug:
- Is looting enabled?
- Is the category enabled?
- Is the item close enough?
- Is the item actually part of that category?
- Are you checking the correct destination?
- Did you route it somewhere other than the player?
- For space salvage, are you checking Player Ship Cargo?
- For space salvage, are you using version 1.1.2 or newer?
- Are you in a restricted location?
PWAL routes loot.
That means items may not appear in your player inventory unless you told PWAL to send them there.
Space salvage is routed to ship cargo.
PWAL now handles normal looting and supported space salvage under one framework.
If you use another auto-looter, asteroid looter, or ship debris looter at the same time, both mods may try to process the same inventory source. Whichever mod gets there first may drain the loot before the other one sees it.
If something acts weird, test PWAL by itself before reporting a bug.
