I'd love to do a preview video of this mod, because I saw your post on GTA Forums about a new version. However - it is still too hard to understand.
With your scripting skills, you should do an guide at the start (some sort of an tutorial) that people will be able to skip. You'd guide people how to create their very first mission. There are 0 tutorials how to make such thing, maybe you did some in the past - but i never understood anything. There should be an tutorial series by you, covering this from bottom to the top:
1 - How to spawn player, and how to make first working checkpoint
2 - Spawning enemies & making them work (by attacking the player, etc)
3. - Doing cutscenes
4. - Carrec path tutorial
Something like this. I bet people would appreciate that, and I would too. Also I think more people would use it (because it's clearly works better than Mission Maker at many aspects) if it would be much, much more easier - if there wouldn't be 1 000 actions that you need to figure out by yourself. I feel like you are doing this mod for yourself only, because you only understand it. Mission Maker was more user friendly, and didn't leave you with an unanswered question on how do I attach this thing, so actor actually moves, it was closer to DYOM and it gained more success, but it was more buggy because author tried to break the limits.
The best that you could do imo, is to release an more easened version, closer to the original DYOM. Incorporate some / or all new features, and make it very user friendly, so it will have modern / or similar UI to the original DYOM, and if you'd create an actor, then you will be able to set his actions easier just like in the real DYOM, not like figuring out all kinds of other LUA stuff that I don't know much about. This would have a potential, but it is so hard to understand...
Would you mind, releasing all missions that were created in LDYOM under the "releases" tab? I'd love to check out some of them, if some users made some
