Thanks @dpiparo, we'll get this merged in upstream. Just for the records, is there a technical reason to move to root.cern or is it purely style/preference for ROOT?

root.cern.ch is redirected to root.cern. .cern is the official domain of the site. Nothing fundamental here :)

Thanks for the fix @dpiparo, all merged upstream, so will be in next release! We'll also back port to patch releases as these come along.
