SensorThings API version 2.0 test servers

Hi All,

The 2.8.0-SNAPSHOT development version of FROST-Server now implements most of SensorThings API version 2.0, including request-response over MQTT5.
Public demo servers are available at:

• Core model only:
  • https://ogc-demo.k8s.ilt-dmz.iosb.fraunhofer.de/FROST-StaV2Core/v2.0
• With Sampling, Relations and OM extension:
  • https://ogc-demo.k8s.ilt-dmz.iosb.fraunhofer.de/FROST-StaV2Full/v2.0
  • wss://ogc-demo.k8s.ilt-dmz.iosb.fraunhofer.de/mqttV2Full

Both are publicly readable and writable, so you can experiment with them as you like.

Is there a changelog with breaking changes available?

That is not just a list of the breaking changes though.

• @iot.id is renamed to id
• @iot.selfLink is renamed to @id, to match OData 4.01
• All *@iot.navigationLink are renamed to *@navigationLink, to match OData 4.01
• @iot.nextLink is renamed to @nextLink to match OData 4.01
• @iot.count is renamed to @count to match OData 4.01
• Relations to existing entities can be created by providing the entity-id (@id, old @iot.selfLink) of the existing entities. This used to be done with the primary key (id, old @iot.id)
• Datastreams now have a mandatory resultType
• Datastream <-> ObservedProperty is now many-to-many

is the snapshot fraunhoferiosb/frost-server:develop-2.x-2.8.0-SNAPSHOT not aligned with what you're hosting there?

FeaturesOfInterest still show up as an endpoint.

That depends on which plugins you activate. The coreModel (v1.1) plugin implements the v1.1 data model, the coreModelV2 plugin the 2.0 data model:

plugins_coreModel_enable
plugins_coreService_enable
plugins_coreModelV2_enable
plugins_coreServiceV2_enable

You can only activate one of the two data models, but you can activate both APIs at the same time.

I've updated my ingestion pipeline to support v2; and am glad to report I'm managing to push to the v2 server! 🎉

I notice that you recreated many (all?) of the STA entities on this server yourself. Would you be OK with deleting my Things and associated entities so that I can try a cold start?

I've not created any entities on that server, so you can delete any entity you think may be yours.
