We have re-designed the acquisition unit to make it 25% narrower (29.5 mm instead of 40 mm). This was done in order to allow VSP shuttles to engage beyond a NQ sized bit while maintaining the rods in the borehole. The new design provides added flexibility, by separating the PCB for the MCU from the acquisition unit. This allows the use of different microcontrollers that are compatible with Arduino. This allows users to include additional storage, for example, and still use the GOSH acquisition modules. This would be helpful for passive seismic monitoring projects. A basic graphical user interface (GUI) was also added to facilitate the configuration of the worker units as well and to help with data QA/QC. Here is a list of the major changes for this version.

  • Acquisition unit PCB was reduced in size. It is now 29.5 by 115.0 mm.
  • MCU daughter board was removed from the acquisition unit PCB.
  • A compatible MCU can now be connected to the acquisition unit via a connector 10 pin connector (molex 2023961007)
  • Basic GUI was added
