Workflow

Below is a general workflow you can follow when creating your Scenarios. To help keep track of components, you should give descriptive names to everything you add. It's also recommended that you work through one Chapter at a time, setting up all Events and Triggers that Chapter will be using, and wiring them together as needed.

Edit Scenario Settings

  • Change the Title
  • Add/Remove Threat thresholds
  • Set the First Objective (optional)
  • Edit the Introduction Text
  • Edit the Resolution Text

Add/Edit Objectives

  • A new Scenario project starts with a Default Objective created for you
  • Use the creation buttons to add more Objectives you'll need to tell your story
  • Edit your Objectives - Name, Reminder Text, Summary
  • Create/Set the Trigger that, when fired, will mark this Objective as "completed"
  • (Optional) Create/Assign a Trigger the Objective will fire when complete

The Start Chapter

  • Every Scenario has to have at least 1 Chapter to start on, and it's created for you when you begin a new Scenario
  • The Start Chapter is special in that none of the Properties apply to it, except creating tiles

Add Events

  • Use the creation buttons to add Events
  • Edit the Flavor and Event Text
  • Change tabs in the window and edit the specific properties of your Event type
  • Wire up any Triggers as needed
  • If an Event is going to have a Person/Search/Threat/Darkness Token assigned to it on the gameboard, be sure to check it as a Token Interaction

Edit Tiles

  • Use the Tile Editor to add/remove/position tiles in the Chapter
  • If it's the Start Chapter, be sure to check Is Starting Tile for the tile you want the players to start on

Assign Tokens

  • Access the Token Editor in the Tile Editor by either double clicking a tile or selecting a tile and clicking Edit Tokens
  • Add and position Tokens within the tile - they will be colored gray until assigned an Event
  • Assign the Events you created and checked as Token Interactions to the Tokens
  • The Token will change color depending on the Token Type you gave it

Rinse and Repeat

  • Add more Chapters and go through the process again until your story is told
  • Don't forget to set up a Trigger to activate the next Chapter
  • Don't forget to set up a Trigger that fires the Resolution Text and ends your Scenario

Save Your Journey

  • Don't forget to save your project!
