[Tutorial] Local Development

- Clone the repo here: https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/cros-sample-telemetry-extension
- Have a Chrome Browser
- Enter the
diagnostics-extensionsubdirectory:
$ cd diagnostics-extension- Replace
public/manifest.jsonwith the below file content:
$ vim public/manifest.json

}- Build the extension files:
$ npm ci && npm run build-
Install the unpacked extension
a. Open
chrome://extensionspageb. Toggle on developer mode on top right
c. Click
Load Unpackedd. Select
buildfolder fromDownloadsand clickOpen
You should now see an extension named Chrome OS Diagnostics Companion Extension in your chrome://extensions page with extension ID of gogonhoemckpdpadfnjnpgbjpbjnodgc
- Enter the
diagnostics-appsubdirectory:
$ cd diagnostics-app- Build app by running the following commands:
$ npm ci
$ npm run start
