Have you considered the standard "publication" group?

My main usage of ./gradlew tasks is piping it to grep for a task name. So I'm not the best judge there.

Do you think "publication" makes sense? If yes, I'm down with that.

I think https://docs.gradle.org/current/javadoc/org/gradle/api/publish/plugins/PublishingPlugin.html#PUBLISH_TASK_GROUP is the way to go.
