Updates to wording of member storage, making it clearer how to use it, what to do if something expires and that we have the right to charge for waste removal if things are abandoned.

# Members Storage Rules
The space provides limited storage for active projects. All stored items should be in either member storage or large project storage. When your project finishes, please free your shelf up for others.

Ah large storage. Are we considering that to have closed? We did shutter it pending the development of a better system / policy, as the old approach was just a constant physical mess, trip hazard, and egress hazard.

We never did come up with a better system and members have started using that area again.

The question is, do the rules dictate the space, or does the space dictate the rules 🤔

I see 3 options, leave it in its organic state, spend a couple of hundred quid building proper storage there, or spend £5-10k on building out a smelly area.

I think closing it again and then not doing anything will be unsuccessful, as we have seen.

The answer probably depends on the appetite of the newly elected board to find a new premises with a longer contract.

Edit re-read the amendment

For shelf storage is this classed as projects or tools?
Historically shelve storage wasn't really originally intended for projects, the idea behind it was for storage of personal tools. The idea being that you'd avoid the need to carry heavy things back and forth each time on a visit.

As a suggestion an idea would be to place some shelving in the place of where the snooker table used to be (not the main area but opposite the current shelves). Then try and highlight its for tools not projects, or at least limit the area to a single box's worth and anything stacked haphazardly will be automatically removed

Although I admit this sort of thing is probably better discussed on the mailing list

Yeah maybe leave it as written for now then, and it can be a future topic to explore
