My idea of cleaning up nanobot's UX and also fully revamping the WebUI

I was thinking. The nanobot core is now wonderful and stable, however there is little effort on the UX, flow, and WebUI of nanobot. no offence to the maintainers, but - the WebUI is ugly and janky. and the setup and management UX of nanobot is old and crusty. For example -

• the webui generally looks bad
• the webui is janky, unresponsive, and not performant
• there's no way to run nanobot on mobile, even though it should be very easy
• whenever the config.json is malformed/broken instead of giving an actual reason, and where, nanobot simply complains about a missing api key, which is wrong and unhelpful
• doctor could be improved

and so on. me and maybe a few others could work on fixing this? suggestions are welcome :)

I've been using Hermes-webui. github.com/nesquena/hermes-webui . It's been great. I'd be interested in something that works similar for nanobot or is agent agnostic

💖Any practical suggestions for improvement are very welcome.TBH, when it comes to aesthetics, nanobot users might be more professional. If someone could provide some design drafts, that would be very helpful.

Love this direction, and no offense taken at all.

I’m genuinely happy to see more people wanting to improve nanobot together. The core has been getting much stronger, but UX, onboarding, diagnostics, and WebUI polish are absolutely areas where we can do much better.

I’d be very open to collaborating on this. A few areas that feel especially valuable to me:

• WebUI responsiveness, layout, and visual polish
• mobile-friendly usage
• clearer config error messages instead of misleading API-key errors
• a better doctor flow
• better setup / management UX

If you have concrete design drafts, interaction ideas, or references like Hermes WebUI, please share them. I think the best path is probably to split this into small, focused PRs so we can improve the experience step by step without making the system harder to maintain.

Really appreciate you bringing this up. I’d love for nanobot’s UX to become something the community shapes together 💪

I believe the current WebUI is written on the wrong stack. A stack I could reccomend which is easy to migrate to and more performant and reliable is shadcn-svelte, sveltekit and lucide. I'll be working on making some design screenshots :)
