I was shortly considering to put the app on Play Store, but really I decided I want to have to do nothing with Google, or at least as little as possible. |

FWIW Google seems to have already pushed the date out, keepandroidopen.org now just says 2027 for when it'll happen. I've already sent stuff to state officials twice about it, and I plan to continue doing so. |

APKs aren't going to be killed. There's just an extra hurdle google will implement so side loading won't be so easy. Scam artists use the sideloading to have users install malicious apps that steal their data and whatnot. In September you will have to enable it in developer settings, restart your phone and wait 24h before you can sideload APK files from unregistered developers again. Is that such a big deal? No! So quit being so melodramatic about it! |
Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
I found a post where you said you had no plans of porting HeliBoard to Play Store. Since Google are killing side loading apks in September, I was wondering if your plans have changed? It's such a wonderful keyboard with no spyware. It'd be nice to use it on phones that aren't AOSP.
