Unity can often load asset bundles that are loaded from previous unity versions without issues. It's probably better to allow mods to be exported with different Unity versions and just log a warning.

This is a fairly large change to the current project architecture. Code is largely the same, but instead of having separate visual studio projects and assemblies, now all code is placed in a Unity project and assembly definitions are used.
This has the advantage of having all code directly accessible in Unity, making it easier to change code for specific projects and to have platform specific compilation.
