Hi everyone!
v0.1.4 is out, and it is the biggest update for Season mode and MLB Life so far: real MLB schedules, starting in any year, the DH in both leagues, 15 and 15 leagues, and an easy way to share Success players. Everything new is off by default and tagged EXPERIMENTAL, so the game stays exactly as on the Wii unless you turn it on.
The Season Editor
The launcher has a new tool: SETTINGS > TOOLS > SEASON EDITOR. It opens its own window where you set up how a new Season or MLB Life game starts: the year, the roster's year (so ages come out right), the DH and the leagues. It also downloads the real major-league schedule of any year from 2002 to 2026 and shows it month by month for every team.
With a 2026 pack, the season starts on Tuesday 3/24/2026 and the Yankees open at AT&T Park against the Giants, as in the real schedule:
DH in both leagues and 15 and 15 leagues
Both are in SETTINGS > ENHANCEMENTS, and a mod can also choose them on its own (including "original", to keep the Wii's rules).
Here is Giancarlo Stanton batting as the DH in a National League park, which the original game never allowed:
And the game's own Custom League screen (Season > Start) now opens with Houston in the AL West:
Sharing Success players
Players you make in Success are shared with a 156-character password, which until now meant taking a photo of the screen and typing it back with the controller. Now Password Display has COPY (to the clipboard, as text) and EXPORT (a
.txtfile named after the player), and Password Input has PASTE and IMPORT. They work with the mouse, with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V, or with a controller (X and Y). The buttons are drawn in the game's own style. What had to change inside the game
None of this was a setting the game already had. Some of what it took:
All the details, with addresses, are in the reverse engineering notes.
Please try it and tell me how it goes, especially if you play a long Season or MLB Life career with a real schedule. If something looks wrong, open an issue with your save.
Next up: the Wii Remote for the password buttons, and more testing of everything above with full seasons played by hand.
v0.1.4 in short (download): Season Editor with real MLB schedules 2002–2026, start in any year, All-Star Game on the real break, DH in both leagues and 15/15 leagues (experimental, Season and MLB Life), Success player passwords as text, files or with a controller. Docs: Season Editor, passwords. For bugs, please use Issues.
