Backend engineer focused on building reliable, maintainable systems. I spend most of my time writing Go, wiring up infrastructure, and occasionally making things fail in ways nobody anticipated.
- Go — primary language, day-to-day work
- Python — scripting, automation, glue code
- Shell — because sometimes that's just the right tool
- Docker / Linux — standard operating environment
- PostgreSQL — usually the database in question
- DevOps and infrastructure tooling
- CLI tools that do one thing well
- Distributed systems (the boring, reliable kind)
Working on a small CLI tool for managing local dev environments. Nothing fancy, just scratching an itch.
Also slowly working through some distributed systems reading — Designing Data-Intensive Applications has been on the shelf long enough.
