[Bug]: CPU & RAM Spikes

Hi Guys,

After installing the Arch linux and Hyprland with HyDE dotfiles. I see sometimes my laptop CPU & RAM spikes up to 50% or 60% and it cause the lagging.

My laptop is Dell latitude 7420 with 32GB of RAM and 4 Cores of cpu i7 with 16GB of Intel Iris Xe integrated graphic.

On some forums they said it might be from kernel but I tested with both the latest linux rolling release and Linux-LTS version all the same.

And i just installed the VS-Code, Chrome browser and NodeJs after clean installtion of Arch.

If you guys have any recommendation to avoid this please share it with me it wil help me alot.

You are also using Firefox right?, Best to check what process is causing the spikes. I always got this too , I'm using the zen browser and If I opened it for too long it sort of lags my whole desktop.

You can also see if it's hyprland rendering the blur and animations, try to disable them by toggling gamemode.sh

No I do not use FireFox but it is installed I am using Google Chrome and I have 2 profile.

the spike mostly comes for me when I open vs-code and chrome with 5 to 7 tabs open and running my nextjs project.

I thought maybe it didnt reconized my graphic card but it reconized.

Pretty much normal to me. Those programs are memory hogs and CPU intensive programs.

That's normal, we run a bunch of theming stuff during theme/wallpaper changes in PARALLEL/ concurrent. Those are CPU intensive. If we don't do this, maybe it would take some time to load all wallpapers and themes. So those hitches are normal. Some device like PC with better hardware never experience this.

If you intend to ONLY change the wallpaper, then you can run this hydectl wallpaper select This will not do the caching, thumbnail, coloring,theming stuff. It will just change wallpaper.
