Session Dashboard extremely slow and sloggy on FireFox browser when displaying 100 records per page

Hey there,

I've just recently switched browser to FireFox from Chrome and sadly the ITB Session Dashboard site is very slow. I've tried disabling everything and use hardware acceleration etc. but nothing works. Simply clicking on the "Filters" button to fold it in and out is very slow.

Hey @olw-medcom. That's strange - we have many users using the ITB on Firefox and something like this has never been reported. I also just tried myself the latest nightly and stable ITB releases with Firefox and the UI is working fine. Tried to make a GIF for you but the recording was making it choppy so it defeated the purpose...

This has to be something on your end that is causing (or forcing) the rendering to choke. Some ideas that pop to mind for you to check:

• Check your FF version and update to latest (obvious but you never know).
• To rule out misbehaving extensions try using private mode in a new FF window.
• Open the console from the developer tools and see if there is anything coming up as a repeated warning or error.

If the problem persists, then it would be great if you post here the about:support information from FF (just add that to your address bar). I can then have a look at the graphics-related part to see what could be the cause.

Hey @costas80 the performance issues only arise when I have many test cases rendered at once (100 per page), I've tried everything you mention, disabling all extensions, private window, a new profile and there is nothing in the console or in the network tab.
When I check the about:performance tab whenever I fold out the filters tab for example, the ITB tab goes up to a 100% CPU.

Ah that's it! I tried it with the 100 per page setting and get the same slowdown. I'll add this as a bug to correct asap and let you know when it's ready to pull.

Hi @olw-medcom.

All tables listing test sessions have now been updated, and in my tests on both Firefox and Chromium-based browsers I see quite a big improvement. Besides these improvements the row expand/collapse animations are deactivated when the page size is 100 rows, as this was - regardless of the improved performance - resulting in a heavy rendering cost for no real benefit.

Can you cross-check on your end once you've had the chance to confirm if the issue is resolved?
