Detailed morphological classifications of 8.7 million galaxies from the DESI Legacy Imaging Survey, produced with deep learning trained on Galaxy Zoo volunteers.
Do spiral galaxies and elliptical (smooth) galaxies live in different parts of the sky brightness / redshift space? Pick two morphological classes and compare how their properties differ.
Where to start: Load the advanced catalogue (Parquet) reading only the columns you need — the deep-learning vote fractions for smooth vs. featured/spiral, plus any magnitude or redshift column. Filter to galaxies with confident classifications.
What to share: One or two clear plots (e.g. distributions or a 2D density) showing the difference, and a short paragraph on what it suggests. Share it in the forum.
