Population indices for 170 breeding bird species across 28 European countries, produced by ~15,000 volunteers counting birds with standardised protocols every year.
Are Europe's farmland birds faring worse than its forest birds? Compare population trends across species groups over the available years.
Where to start: Load the indices CSV (use the open subset only — see the license note). Group species by habitat if a habitat field exists, or by a small manual grouping, and average their indices per year.
What to share: A chart comparing the grouped trends and a short conclusion about which group is declining faster.
