⚡ Bolt: Move scripts to <head> with defer for parallel loading#47
Conversation
- Moved `<script src="js/main.js"></script>` and `<script src="js/lightbox.js"></script>` from the end of the `<body>` to the `<head>` and added the `defer` attribute. - This allows the browser to discover and download the scripts in parallel with HTML parsing without blocking rendering. - Recorded a critical learning entry in `.jules/bolt.md`. 💡 What: Moved the application scripts (
main.jsandlightbox.js) from the bottom of the<body>to the<head>and added thedeferattribute across all HTML pages.🎯 Why: When scripts are placed at the bottom of the
<body>, the browser doesn't start downloading them until the HTML parser reaches the end of the file. By moving them to the<head>with thedeferattribute, the browser's preload scanner can discover and begin downloading the scripts asynchronously while the HTML is still parsing.📊 Impact: Improves Time to Interactive (TTI) and overall page load speed by enabling parallel downloading without blocking the render path.
🔬 Measurement: This can be verified by checking the Network tab in DevTools; the download for
main.jsshould start earlier in the waterfall graph, parallel to CSS and other early assets.PR created automatically by Jules for task 13167973991971708968 started by @ImChong
