tag 14550010 not allowed in implicit mode (Mortara ECG dicom file)

Thanks for this great library.

I have a Mortara ECG file which is giving me the above error. I think it's implicit because the TransferSyntaxUID is 1.2.840.10008.1.2.

What's the best approach to this? Is there an API for adding a new tag? or forcing implicit mode off?

Hi @jdf-id-au,

That's a private tag, which libdicom doesn't handle well right now, unfortunately. I have a branch where I started improving private tag support, but it was never finished and merged due to lack of time, money, etc.

I have a paper due in May so I don't have much spare capacity right now, perhaps I'll go back to it later this year.
