XailonCode 0.2.17 — Call it by name

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@subhransusekhar subhransusekhar released this 05 Oct 17:17
  • Skills, recipes, and plugins by name: /name runs any skill, recipe, or command, and @name anywhere in a message calls it with the rest of the message as input — for example /youtube-production a video about ocean tides or @frontend-design build a pricing page. Installed plugins' recipes and commands are now callable, including the 100 recipe plugins in the Infinia Marketplace.
  • Suggestions as you type: the terminal UI and the desktop app suggest skills, recipes, and commands after / and @, labeled by kind; the line-based CLI completes them with Tab. A plugin installed from /plugins can be called in the same session.
  • Clarifying questions you can answer: when XailonCode asks for details before starting, the questions appear as a step-by-step form in the terminal UI, a card in the desktop app, and pickers in the CLI — no more raw JSON. Pick an option or type your own answer.
  • Website: logo, colors, and type now match the Infinia Labs marketplace.

Packages and limits

Apple Silicon macOS CLI/TUI/server archive and desktop DMG. Builds are ad-hoc signed, not Apple-notarized. Other platforms remain pending and are not advertised as downloadable. Use the public install/update scripts; the CLI's built-in xailon update still targets the source repository.

Install or update

curl -fsSL https://xailoncode.infinialabs.ai/install.sh | sh -s -- --version v0.2.17 --component all
curl -fsSL https://xailoncode.infinialabs.ai/install.sh | sh -s -- update --version v0.2.17 --component all

Omit --component all for CLI/TUI only. No GitHub login or access to the private source repository is required.

SHA-256 files accompany each package; SHA256SUMS covers the release assets. Source revision: 54b8d6ea44112e536f818ba69e8ad75dd4eb5116. The source remains private. macOS deployment target is 11.0; runtime smoke tests were performed on the build machine, not across every macOS version.

Cross-platform builds are not included: GitHub Actions remains unavailable for this release, so Windows, Linux, and Intel Mac packages are pending.

XailonCode 0.2.16 — Infinia Marketplace

Choose a tag to compare

@subhransusekhar subhransusekhar released this 05 Oct 14:48
  • Infinia Marketplace everywhere: add the curated Infinia Marketplace in one step with xailon plugin marketplace add (or add infinia), the new terminal UI /plugins command, or Add Infinia Marketplace in the desktop app.
  • Browse and install from the terminal UI: /plugins lists every marketplace plugin with search, shows the source, pinned commit and any code a plugin can run, and installs only after you choose Install. Code-running plugins are labeled and need explicit approval.
  • Desktop marketplace section: one-click add, Browse catalog, plugin search, installed labels, and click-to-review under Extensions → Plugins & hooks.
  • Fix: a terminal UI test no longer depends on the number of slash commands.

Also includes v0.2.15's custom endpoint model discovery and per-session model refresh.

XailonCode 0.2.15 — Your endpoint, your models

Choose a tag to compare

@subhransusekhar subhransusekhar released this 05 Oct 11:08
  • Custom endpoints with model discovery: first-run setup (xailon configure) offers an OpenAI-Compatible Endpoint option. Adding any OpenAI-, Anthropic-, or Ollama-compatible endpoint loads the models it serves, with search for long lists. Manual entry is needed only when the endpoint does not list models.
  • Model lists stay current: custom providers reload models from the endpoint at the start of every new desktop or client session and in xailon configure. Models added on the server appear; removed models drop out. If the endpoint is unreachable, the last loaded list is kept. All served models are shown, not only models XailonCode recognizes. Providers created by earlier versions refresh too.
  • Desktop activity and planning: an Activity & Tasks panel with a tool and reasoning timeline, task plans shown as cards with completion counts, and an Output tab. Keyboard navigation and Esc dismissal included.

XailonCode 0.2.14 — Clarity and control

Choose a tag to compare

@subhransusekhar subhransusekhar released this 05 Oct 03:42
  • Rich desktop responses: Markdown tables, task lists, syntax-highlighted code with copying, and math. Choose streamed or completed responses and expanded, collapsed, or hidden tool calls and reasoning summaries. Approvals and errors remain visible.
  • MCP and shared Mods: manage and test local-process or Streamable HTTP MCP servers, inspect tool schemas, review pinned plugin installs and updates, and use shared Markdown panels across desktop, CLI, and TUI. Mods v1 uses Xailon's lifecycle hooks; Claude Code function modules require porting.
  • Verification evidence: inspect command outcomes with their observed workspace revision. Recheck freshness after edits, export report JSON, and inspect reports with xailon evidence or TUI /evidence. Evidence records observed checks; it does not certify task completion.
  • Project privacy and spending: pin local/cloud model profiles, require explicit cloud approval, keep sessions local when sensitive paths are found, and apply estimated per-turn/session budgets shared with delegates. Policies and spending persist across resumed sessions. Routing covers model requests, not networking by tools or MCP servers; estimates are not invoice caps.
  • Public distribution: refreshed website and searchable user guide, plus install/update availability based on published release assets.

XailonCode 0.2.13 — public preview

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@subhransusekhar subhransusekhar released this 05 Oct 02:58

First public preview of Xailon: an AI agent for the command line, terminal UI, and desktop.

Available downloads

This preview currently provides the macOS Apple Silicon CLI/TUI archive (xailon-aarch64-apple-darwin.tar.bz2), including xailon and xailond, plus its SHA-256 checksum. Downloads are public and do not require a GitHub account or access to the source repository. Intel macOS, Linux, Windows, desktop apps, and native package installers are not attached to this release yet.

What's included

  • Saqr, the pixel-art falcon mascot, in terminal startup and welcome screens.
  • Refined terminal layout, scrolling suggestions, keyboard hints, and narrow-window behavior.
  • A consistent desktop control system for buttons, text fields, forms, focus indicators, and folder browsing.
  • Platform-detecting installers for installation and updates, with SHA-256 verification.
  • A public website and searchable user guide.

Get started

Visit xailoncode.infinialabs.ai to select your platform and components. The default installer installs the CLI and TUI. For this release, use macOS Apple Silicon and CLI + TUI; the desktop component is not available yet. Use Update in the same installer to update an existing installation.

Read the user guide for provider setup, keyboard shortcuts, approvals, and troubleshooting. Configure a provider with xailon configure before starting a session or opening the desktop app.

Preview limitations

  • macOS packages are not Apple-notarized. Desktop apps use ad-hoc signatures, not a Developer ID distribution certificate. Windows packages are unsigned.
  • Linux requires glibc 2.35 or newer. Linux ARM64 supports CLI/TUI; its desktop app is not included. Windows packages target x86-64.
  • Use the supplied install/update scripts or manual downloads. This version's built-in xailon update command still targets the source repository.
  • The GitHub asset list below is authoritative for available downloads. Verify each file against its matching .sha256 file or SHA256SUMS before installation.

The application source remains in the private development repository. This public repository contains distribution assets, installation helpers, and user documentation.
