Potential problems with Nextcloud installation in a subfolder when accessing Cospend

There were reports of not being able to connect to Cospend when Nextcloud was installed in a subfolder structure like owndomain.tld/nextcloud/apps/cospend/… instead of prefix.owndomain.tld/apps/cospend/… or owndomain.tld/apps/cospend/….

But is that really a problem? Can someone confirm or deny who uses such a subfolder structure?
There was a commit handling such structure differently, but it never got merged into the main branch.

I have a subfolder structure and I cannot add cospend projects to payforme anymore. The QR code is not recognized and I did not manage to enter the information manually in a recognized way, following the manual from #77 (and all kinds of variations). Running payforme v2.5 and cospend v3.0.11

Thank you @call-me-matt! I am going to implement a solution over the coming week. After looking into it, I am also going to answer your question. Hopefully it’s also easy to display why a QR code can’t be red sometimes. Because no feedback is the worst feedback.

@call-me-matt Thank you for providing an example to test with! The logic is rewritten to account for different kind of subfolder paths now. I'll publish an update to the AppStore tonight.

For the error-messaging though: I already started to implement better feedback but even taking the time to get this little fix right took me some time as you've seen – so I decided to publish the fix first and concentrate on overall better feedback in the UI later.

As for why the QR code sometimes is not recognized at all: The code keeps looking for a specific url-structure. If it doesn't see it, it doesn't say anything. That's not ideal, I agree. But as it turned out, to really enhance the system's feedback I need to come up with a sound architecture first to handle all different kind of errors. Otherwise, it will be patchy and messy in the end and no fun for others to work with. But it (namely "system transparency" aka "what is the machine doing?") is one of the weakest strengths of the app. Therefore, it is on of my top priorities for the near future to enhance.
