Summary

  1. Use oneapi@2024.2.1 instead of intel@2021.x.y
  2. Use gcc@12.2.0 instead of gcc@11.2.0
  3. Update cray-mpich to 8.1.29/8.1.27 since the old version is no longer available on the system

Also included: update of spack submodule pointer for recently merged bug fixes for crtm@3.1.1-build1 (add symlinks to fix wrong paths in install prefix).

Testing

  • Installed the unified environment in a user test directory with oneapi@2024.2.1
  • Installed the unified environment in a user test directory with gcc@12.2.0
