App background color

First of all, a big thank you for this great project!

I have visual impairments; would it be possible to add a feature that allows choosing the app's background color (adding white as an option alongside the existing black)?

Hi Aurel,

Thank you, and great timing: exactly this is on the way. The next version adds a display menu with a Light theme (white background) and a High contrast theme, plus three text sizes, all aimed at making STR easier to read with low vision. I will follow up here as soon as it ships so you can try it.

The phone remote you asked about has it now too. In v0.8.37, open STR on your phone and tap the "Aa" button at the top right: three text sizes and three themes, including a Light one with a white background and a High contrast one. The desktop app has the same menu next to the language picker.

Just update to the latest version and let it update your speaker as well, then the Aa button is there.

Bonjour Aurel,

Good news: this already exists. STR has a phone remote. In the desktop app open the "Control this speaker on your phone" section, scan the QR code with your phone camera, then use "Add to Home Screen" for a one-tap remote.

That phone remote has the same accessibility options as the desktop app: tap the "Aa" button at the top right for a Light theme (white background), a High-contrast theme, and larger text sizes. So the white background you asked for is there on the phone too. If you do not see the "Aa" menu yet, update the speaker from the app so it is on the latest STR.
