V6 should add @ rules. Obviously now that we can import stylesheets this isn't as much of a pain point. But the framework itself could also provide basic @ rule support.

Probably don't have to do that much work. Just add typing and allow the built-in style builder to generate at rules that get added to the component's stylesheet.
