CLI Pulse Desktop v0.2.4
⚠️ YANKED — DO NOT INSTALL. This release shipped a broken Windows
NSIS / Linux .deb / .rpm installer that contained only thescan_cli
sidecar diagnostic binary instead of the GUI. Symptom: installer
succeeds but launching produces a flash of console window and no GUI.
Use v0.2.11 or later. Forensic write-up:

Polish + plumbing. No new app features. Better foundations.
What's in here
-
🎨 Real brand icons. Replaced the Tauri scaffold defaults with the canonical CLI Pulse mark (1024×1024 source from the iOS app's
AppIcon.appiconset). Tauri regenerated all per-platform variants — Windows tiles,.icns, Linux tray, the works. The taskbar / dock / Alt-Tab card all carry the proper logo now. -
📊 Sentry crash + error reporting wired (Rust side, frontend hook coming). Off by default — set
CLI_PULSE_SENTRY_DSNat build or runtime to opt in. Privacy stance matches the iOS / macOS apps (sendDefaultPii=false,tracesSampleRate=0, scrubs$HOMEpaths). See README "Optional: Sentry". -
🪝 Pre-push git hook (
scripts/git-hooks/pre-push) runs the same gates as CI before every push: rustfmt + clippy + cargo test + frontend build. Caught a host-TZ-dependent test bug in v0.2.3 too late; this should keep the next one out of CI. One-line install:scripts/install-git-hooks.sh. -
📝 README rewritten with current layout, sprint history, and Sentry setup. Was still claiming "Sprint 0 — local scan only".

Numbers
- 43 / 43 Rust tests pass on all 4 CI platforms (+1 sentry init no-op test)
- New runtime dep:
sentry@0.34(~1 MB compressed binary growth, zero network when DSN is empty) - Auto-update from any 0.1.x or 0.2.x continues to work — signing key unchanged
Self-driven sprint
Sprint 10 was triggered by a self-review after Codex's "I'd refuse to ship that" feedback in Sprint 9. Pattern recognition: bugs hide in the seams between local-feels-ok and CI-fails-everywhere, and we shouldn't make CI carry that detection burden when a 30-second local hook can do it.
Auto-update will fetch this on next launch — Settings → Updates → Check for updates.
