If you need to perform a clean re-installation or want to completely remove Wid-Stacks from your Mac, follow these steps to erase the application binaries along with its sandboxed app support layers and file coordination directories.

Step 1: Remove the Main Binary

  1. Open Finder and navigate to your /Applications folder.
  2. Locate Wid-Stacks, right-click it, and select Move to Trash.

Step 2: Delete Shared Data and Configuration Plists

Because Wid-Stacks uses custom cross-process file coordination routines between the parent application bundle and its background widget extensions, files are stored outside standard application frames.

Open Finder, press Cmd + Shift + G (Go to Folder), and delete the following directories:

1. Application Support Infrastructure

Paste the following paths into the search bar and move them to the Trash:

  • ~/Library/Containers/com.juneminazuki.Wid-Stacks.Widgets/Data/Library/Application Support/WidStacks

2. Clear System Cache & Registration

To clear cached widget timeline states and cross-process notification setups, clear out any matching references in the system Caches path:

  • ~/Library/Caches/com.juneminazuki.Wid-Stacks

Step 3: Empty the Trash

Once these application folders are moved to the Trash, secondary widget extensions will automatically get unlinked from the macOS notification manager system layer. Empty your Trash and restart your computer to finalize the cleanup.
