Jura Labs is a UK Community Interest Company (No. 17117467, registered 25 March 2026). We build local-first software for two domains:
- Jura Trace — desktop application for forensic verification of images, video and documents. Twelve detection signals, C2PA Content Credentials, watermarking. Runs entirely on your device. No cloud. No accounts.
- ROOTED — carbon-aware decision-support tool. (Public release pending.)
A Community Interest Company has an asset lock and a community-purpose statement that cannot be quietly removed. Our community statement obliges us to keep these tools accessible to cultural institutions, journalists, educators, and frontline civil-society organisations — the people for whom commercial-only access models do not work.
Our published software is released under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. Free for non-commercial, education, research, journalism, and cultural use. Commercial licences available — see each project's README.
We will launch an Apache-2.0 dual-licence for Jura Trace in a later release.
