We’ve all been there — trying to figure out where to go, what to eat, or how to spend the day. Traditional apps often leave us scrolling endlessly, looking at an overwhelming amount of options with no real way to find what the best fit for our day is. That’s where Moves comes in.
Moves solves this problem by directly providing personalized recommendations based on what you’re in the mood for, your preferences, and where you’re located. Instead of scrolling through reviews for hours, our app simplifies this process using a swipe-based interface, similar to Tinder. Just select your mood — whether you’re feeling hungry, adventurous, or just want to relax — and Moves will find you the best-rated places near you.
Moves is not just about recommendations — it’s about creating a social experience. You can connect with friends, see where they’ve swiped right, and stay in the loop about trending spots in your area. Through the use of AI, Moves curates real-time suggestions so you can spend less time searching and more time enjoying.
The idea for Moves actually started with a personal experience. Living in a college town like Gainesville, we discussed how we have often struggled finding things to do. There are so many restaurants and activities, but discovering new places that actually fit what we were in the mood for wasn’t really that easy. This got us thinking — if we have this problem, other college students probably do too. Students want quick, high-quality recommendations without spending hours browsing online. But then, we realized that these issues scale far beyond just college towns. Whether you’re in a new city or looking for a change in your current one, people everywhere have struggled with where to go. That’s why Moves is designed for anyone looking for a fun, easy, and social way to explore their local area.
