How to clean savefile from mod?

Hello,

I have working save from 0.7.6a version of the game and COIExtended.Tweaks of version 106.
I only used these tweaks for x6 speed of the game and unlimited area of mining.

If I try now to upgrade either game or tweaks, game crushes with "corrupted save" error.

So my question is: is it possible to somehow clean game save from mod parts?

You simply need to load the game without the mod selected.

I would recommend creating some kind of script or exe file, that would clean all the traces of mod from savefile. Because savefile consists of mainly two blocks:

1. the data from game itself

2. and data from mod

Only you, as creator of mod, know what is added to savefile from mod.

It's not that complicated to where this is necessary.

If you are using the latest version of the mod, all you need to do is un-check the Tweaks mod from the game when you load the save.

If you need further help, simply upload the save file in question and I will do the above steps and return it to you.

Will work in latest game version, not sure about any other.

If you completely clean the mod folder %APPDATA%\Captain of Industry\Mods folder. from all dlls and try to use your save, you will still get the following error. But at least save be can used with latest version for both game and mod. So many thanks!

There was a bug in 0.7.6 that broke the ability to remove mods from a saved game.

I filed an official bug report for it and it was fixed in a later version, but games created or saved with that version of the game might still have issues with being removed from the game in newer versions due to the old data caused by the previous bug.

A new game started with the latest version of the mod on the latest version of the game should support drop-in and drop-out of Tweaks and Cheats mod at any time regardless of the mod's installation state.

Due to the nature of Early Access and writing mods for it and the dozens of versions that were created, it is difficult to provide full backward compatibility support with all features at all times—but this should get you back on the road for now.
