Related to #614 but much less invasive.

• Customers have mentioned that flipping between tabs for attr editing isn't ideal
• I personally don't like the way the settings gears expand to clutter up the left sidebar
• It would be nice to be able to see the user guide next to the editor.

This is just me fiddling around. I'd want to discuss with the team before going any further.

I don't know if settings for specific items should be relocated and disconnected from their component, but I do like it for more general options.
