VtkRemoteView is indeed the way to go. Your remaining issue is just with VTK at that point not the mismatch capabilities between VTK and vtk.js.

To prevent the second window to show, you can set it to be OffScreen like here

Then, if you must leverage the rendering within the browser, you could move to trame-vtklocal once everything is rendering/working the way you want.
