Community Smelter
The Community Smelter is located near (-472,-2296) and provides iron ingots, industrial iron ingots, copper ingots, zinc ingots, brass ingots, gold ingots, andesite alloy ingots, and create standard track. The Smelter sources gravel, andesite, and tuff from the Community Quarry which it processes into these materials, and will impact the availability of resources at the quarry when running.
The quarry can provide up to 480 stacks (30,720) of each item. The Smelter Inspection station is mandatory to stop at in order to load the factory, all other stops are optional. Station order is:
- Smelter Inspection (wait 15s so power plant has time to get to full power before proceeding to next stop)
- Smelter Iron Load
- Smelter Ind Iron Load
- Smelter Copper Load
- Smelter Zinc Load
- Smelter Brass Load
- Smelter Gold Load
- Smelter And Alloy Load
- Smelter Track Load
It takes about 2 minutes to load 480 stacks, or about 4.5 stacks per second. Each loading/unloading stop should have a timeout of y = number of stacks being requested divided by 4 seconds or y = number of stacks being requested divided by 240 minutes. (proceed after loading x stacks or y seconds/minutes).
The smelter maintains its own train to supply materials using its own siding.
Times to fully replenish each buffer:
Iron Ingots: 40min
Industrial Iron Ingots: 40min
Copper Ingots: 40min
Zinc Ingots: 2hr
Brass Ingots: 1hr 20min
Gold Ingots: 2hr 40min
Andesite Alloy Ingots: 10hr 40min
Track: 10hr 40min
From cold start, it takes approximately 7 days to fill all buffers.
There are player accessible barrels on the static rail cars if you wish to travel in and take a smaller quantity, and each vault has a smart chute that can be used to load a shulker in the basement. Additionally there is an overflow mechanism utilizing an automatic shulker loader that may provide a shulker of gold blocks, copper blocks, or iron blocks in the sub-basement. Please refill the shulker chest on top if it appears to be getting low.
