This is by far the biggest update I have ever done. I basically rebuilt the whole app and added a ton of new stuff on top.

Windows only for now. Linux and macOS are being worked on but they're not ready yet, more on that at the bottom.

This is a minor Continuation of last version but with some fixes included

• Fixed Voidstrap chat not showing when not signed in.
• Added to Voidstrap chat Herm Chat for all Bootstrap global chat (for later will enable soon)

• Roblox installation issue where RobloxPlayerBeta.exe can't find its required DLL, which in newer versions gets extracted from the RobloxApp.zip package.

Voidstrap accounts

You can sign into Voidstrap now, and it actually does something.

• Sign in with multiple accounts and switch between them whenever
• Your FastFlag profiles save to your account, so you can pull them down on any PC instead of copying JSON around

• Profile editor with gradients and borders
• Your play history syncs

Forums

Built in forums. Post, reply, like and dislike, images, mentions, avatars, badges and emoji. All tied to your account.

Quests, Shop and Black Market

There's a level system now. Complete quests, earn XP, level up, and get notified when you finish one.

New features

AssetWarp

A local proxy that sits between Roblox and its servers so you can actually see and mess with game assets.

• Capture and browse assets with a preview
• Strip textures, decals, images, meshes or animations
• Preload assets ahead of time, even across games, with your own cache size
• Avatar preloading
• Spoof your username or presence (only you see it)
• Route through HTTP CONNECT or SOCKS5 if you want

Read this before turning it on. AssetWarp has to look at HTTPS traffic to work, so it makes a certificate that is unique to your PC and trusts it for your account only. The key never leaves your machine and Windows encrypts it. Uninstalling Voidstrap removes it. Voidstrap still checks every real server certificate properly. It's off by default and asks you first.

RiShade

Shaders built into Voidstrap, kind of like ReShade. Has depth buffer access, anti smear, and you can import ReShade presets you already have.

Frame Generation

NVIDIA frame gen. Set a target FPS, uncap it, split screen compare, and there's an overlay so you can see what it's doing.

Anti Aliasing

Post process AA applied over the Roblox window, pick your method.

Game Chat

Chat overlay so you don't have to leave fullscreen. Emotes, filtering, name colors, profile viewer, and you can move and resize the window.

Voidstrap Matchmaker

Finds you the closest server instead of letting Roblox pick a random one.

• Uses real datacenter locations, not guessing
• Pick your preferred datacenters or block ones you don't want, even per game
• Prefer empty servers
• Learns from the servers you actually end up playing on

Overlays

Redid the whole overlay system. HUD, crosshair (shape, size, gap, thickness, color, outline, opacity), FPS cap, present tracer, window tracker, diagnostics.

Classic clients

Launch old Roblox clients straight from Voidstrap, 2007 through 2010 and up. They download with integrity checking so you know you got the real thing.

There's also a full local server for them now, so classic clients actually work: asset delivery, thumbnails, avatars, body colors, badges, friends, marketplace and player tracking, plus an auth server with a UDP proxy so your friends can join you.

Bootstrapper themes

Install themes from the website with one click, and they auto update when the creator changes them. You can build your own in the editor and publish it, and Voidstrap will show you what changed between your local copy and the published one.

Roblox Studio

Rich presence for Studio with no plugin needed. Shows your place, what script you're in, and if you're in Team Create or playtesting. Rojo support too.

Auto translate, 80 new languages

Voidstrap used to ship in 30 languages that were translated by hand. Now it can translate itself into 109, so that's 80 languages added that were never supported before.

• Translates the entire app, not just the parts that were translated by hand. Anything hardcoded gets translated too
• Turning it off puts every original string back properly, no restart and no leftovers
• Translations are cached to disk so it only fetches each string once, and it stays fast after the first run
• URLs and links are never translated so nothing breaks

The 30 hand translated languages are still there and still the default if you speak one of them.

Accessibility and display

• Color blindness simulation and correction with type and severity
• Color temperature, contrast, saturation
• Custom app font, font scaling, UI zoom
• Fake borderless and fake exclusive fullscreen
• Window backdrops (Mica, Acrylic, etc)

Performance

• Memory manager that backs off when you tab out and gives it back during gameplay
• Render acceleration and a dynamic render system
• Roblox process optimizer and efficiency mode
• Emulation overhead bypass

• Faster downloads, multiple packages at once and split into segments, with an actual accurate ETA
• Telemetry blocking for Roblox
• Audio: duck Roblox audio when you tab out, headset loudness, custom death sound volume

Fixed

Security

• Fixed a path traversal hole in archive extraction. Mods, themes and updates used to extract with zero validation, so a crafted zip could write files outside the folder it was meant to go in. Every entry is now checked to make sure it stays inside the target folder.
• Fixed unbounded HTTP responses. There was no size limit, so a bad or hostile server could make Voidstrap eat memory until it died. Responses are capped at 8 MB now.
• Fixed requests that could hang forever. Every call has a 20 second timeout now.
• Hardened launch arguments. Deeplinks are strictly validated (scheme allowlist, length limit, control characters rejected) and arguments are passed as a proper list instead of being glued into a command string.
• Fixed leaked HTTP responses. Responses weren't being disposed, which held connections open.

Crashes and data loss

• Fixed background crashes going completely unreported. Only errors on the UI thread were caught before, so anything that failed on a background thread vanished silently. Crashes in tasks and on any thread are now caught and logged.
• Fixed settings getting wiped. Saves are atomic now with automatic backup recovery, so a crash or power loss mid save can't destroy your config.
• Fixed settings being overwritten on OneDrive. If your Voidstrap folder is cloud synced and the file isn't downloaded locally, Voidstrap now tells you instead of silently replacing your settings with defaults.
• Fixed crashes from using disposed objects. Went from 2 guards against this to 35.
• Fixed corrupt config killing startup. Bad JSON now falls back to the last good backup instead of failing.
• Fixed downloads dying on a bad connection. They retry and resume now.
• Fixed malformed images crashing the app during loading.

Memory leaks

• Fixed a large number of event handler leaks. Handlers were subscribed and never removed, so windows and pages stayed alive forever. Unsubscribes went from 23 to 511.
• Fixed objects never being cleaned up. Proper disposal went from 22 types to 349, and cleanup calls from 64 to 711.
• Fixed timers running after their window closed.
• Fixed socket exhaustion from creating new HTTP clients per request instead of reusing them.

Freezes and threading

• Fixed UI deadlocks. Async calls that could deadlock the interface were corrected across the app, from 62 to 990 properly configured awaits.
• Fixed operations that couldn't be cancelled. Cancellation support went from 95 to over 1000 places, so closing a window or cancelling a download actually stops the work instead of leaving it running.
• Fixed race conditions on values read and written from multiple threads at once, using proper atomic operations and volatile fields where there were none before.
• Fixed concurrent access corrupting shared state, with proper locking added where it was missing.
• Removed blocking sleeps that froze the interface.

Performance

• Cut allocations heavily by using spans and pooled buffers instead of copying data around, which means less stuttering from garbage collection.
• Fixed slow and locale dependent string comparisons. These could also behave differently depending on your Windows language. Explicit comparisons went from 118 to 767.
• Faster downloads with multiple packages at once and segmented transfers.
• Memory manager that releases memory when you tab out and restores it during gameplay.
• Parallel processing added where work was needlessly sequential.

Other

• Swapped the whole graphics stack. SharpDX has been dead for years so I moved everything (D3D11, DXGI, shader compiling, DirectComposition) over to Vortice which is actually maintained.
• Download is a lot smaller now. The app isn't self contained anymore so the installer and updates are way lighter.
• Updated to current .NET 10 instead of the old Windows 8 target, and pinned the SDK so builds are consistent.
• Fixed mismatched version numbers. The version lives in one place now instead of being duplicated in several files.
• Removed old compatibility packages that were shadowing the real runtime versions.
• Updated WebView2 from 1.0.3800.47 to 1.0.4078.44.
• Fixed the bootstrapper defaulting wrong on Windows 10. It assumed Windows 11 before. It also scales now.
• Cleaned up the repo. Deleted leftover junk files, fixed 5 filenames that had trailing spaces, and fixed a setting that was named wrong (exitondissy to ExitOnDissy).

• SwiftTunnel VPN and the whole login for it. It kept breaking and I'm not maintaining it.
• AI Chat page
• Discord chat panel
• GPU overclocking and NVIDIA profile stuff. Too risky and too dependent on your specific hardware.
• Motion blur including desktop capture blur
• Plugins page and Hub page
• Anime RPC and the anime window
• DX12 toggle, play history, client settings saver
• Settings that went with them: AniWatch, FPSCounter, ForceRobloxLanguage, Fullbright, IngameChatDiscord, LockDefault, MotionBlurOverlay

Spotify and the YouTube downloader are gone too.

Linux and macOS

I've been rebuilding Voidstrap so it can run on Linux and macOS, and most of the groundwork is done. The app got split into separate platform projects and the UI layer got ported. Packaging scripts for AppImage, deb, rpm, Arch and macOS dmg are written.

It's not ready yet though, so this release is Windows only. I'm not shipping it until it actually works properly.

Linux is also getting Sober integration so Voidstrap can install and launch Roblox through Sober directly.
