Filee 2.1.0 is coming: anything you'd like in it?

2.1.0 is the next release, and the first one with code-signed Windows files. Before we tag it, we'd like to hear from everyone working on Filee.

Already in for 2.1.0 (merged to main):

• Text recognition (OCR) with Apple Vision on macOS, and everyday media tools (compress, merge, extract audio, video from pictures)
• A quick clip cutter for videos, and a PDF toolkit (watermark, page numbers, password)
• PDF tables to Excel, a print layout studio for spreadsheets, and AutoCAD version choice for DWG/DXF
• "Replace the original", window zoom (Ctrl + wheel), and a donut that flips slice by slice
• Native Wayland, GNOME Wayland and Hyprland support, and in-app updates on Linux
• New formats: FITS astrophotos, CRI USM game videos, iCalendar, HP-GL and more
• Turkish, French, Traditional Chinese, Nepali and Thai
• Many fixes (ANSI text in the PC's own code page, glTF resource names, and more)

Still going in: #428 (PDF page editing tools).

If you're working on something you'd like in 2.1.0, open the PR (or reply here) by Saturday, October 24, 23:59 UTC (Sunday 08:59 in Korea). Anything after that goes into the next release, so there's no rush.

Is it possible to add a custom ratio when croping images? Sometimes I need to crop a batch of images for instagram on 4:5 size ratio and I couldn´t find this option. Tks

Thanks @dgopress12! Not yet. The crop ratios today, and in the upcoming 2.1.0, are Free, Original, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9, plus their portrait turns 3:4, 2:3 and 9:16. There's no 4:5 and no custom ratio yet.

We'll plan a custom ratio (with 4:5 for Instagram) for a future release.

@KnifeLemon, tagging you since this would add a slot on the crop's aspect dial.

@dgopress12 Update: we built it. #543 adds a 5:4 slice to the crop's aspect dial. On an upright picture it shows 4:5 (Instagram's portrait size), and the hub (X) turns it back to 5:4. It's waiting for review, so it's not released yet. If it's accepted, it ships in an upcoming release.

We also asked in #542 whether the chosen ratio should stay for the next picture in a batch, and whether to add a custom W:H ratio.

Filee 2.1.0 is out: https://github.com/KnifeLemon/Filee/releases/tag/v2.1.0

Its Windows files are the first to be code-signed ("Open Source Developer MYEONGGU KIM"), and it also brought in European Portuguese (#516) and the theme preview's switch (#525), which came in before the cut-off. Thanks @cre8ive-marketing and @SeoJCalive for answering so quickly, and to everyone whose work is in it. Anything new goes into the next release.
