Ember, Adapter EZSP protocol version, SLZB-06M

As a message popped up today, that the ezsp driver is deprecated and followed by the ember driver I thought I give it a try.

I am using a SLZB-06M connected via LAN with radio fw 20231030 and core fw v2.5.6 (should be most recent ones, that are not dev).
My Z2M version is 1.40.2

Unfortunately I get the following error:

I'm rather novice and a bit lost. I understand that Adapter EZSP protocol version is 12 but ember requires 13 or 14, but I have no clue which component needs updating and how.
Is there anyone who can help me with this? (I currently went back to ezsp but I guess that's not futureproof.)

I have tried to search the net for the error message and I found quite a few startup issues with Z2M and the SLZB but as far as I understood these they were not the same.

You need to update the coordinator firmware to 7.x or 8.x, see https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/adapters/emberznet.html

Thanks a lot, I got it working now. I somehow managed to totally misunderstand the firmware update page of the SLZB.

So what did you do? Koenkk says to update the coordinator with firmware 8.0.X but I don't understand where to find it for our SLZB-06M :-(

Well, I have to admit I still am confused by the firmware update page of the SLZB (was just trying to recap when I read your msg). The thing is, that I misread what version was installed and what updates are available.
Try this: Go to the firmware update page. On the right there is a drop-down "Zigbee over-the-air (OTA) update" open that and then choose "Check for Zigbee updates". This opens a pop-up showing the different versions. Update to a newer one (mine now is 20240510 which says SDK 7.4.1 which I guess corresponds to the required 7.x version).

so basically one uses the deprecated ezsp driver or updates SLZB firmware to a dev version. @hal2000gh: how is your experience with the update over the last weeks?
Did you just update firmware, change to ember in z2m GUI, restarted z2m and everything was working?

I updated the firmware and changed to "ember" in the configuration.yaml (I did not find where to change that in the GUI).
Everything is working so far (some thermostats and window/door sensors)

thanks for the feedback! I updated the SLZB to 20241127 | v2.6.8.dev26 and changed in z2m under settings -> serial -> adapter to ember. Everything working fine.
