Need Help with SONOFF's Smart water valve (SWV-ZNE)

First of all, for context: I am using an older version of Zigbee2MQTT, v1.40.1.

Today I added the newer version of SONOFF’s Smart Water Valve (SWV-ZNE), and I am getting this error:

After that, I can see the device in my list:

However, the vendor is shown as “Not supported”.
On the device’s own page, I can see “SONOFF”, but it is still shown as unsupported:

Clicking on the model name opens the “Support new devices” page:

But it looks like the device is already supported here:

Last week, I also had the older version of this device: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/SWV.html
When adding it to Zigbee2MQTT, I also got some errors, but the device still worked.

Do you have any advice on what I should do?
Do I need to update to a newer version of Zigbee2MQTT? (if yes, how would i uderstand it from the given error -for the future errors-)

Hello, you can't understand it from the error.
You should always update Zigbee2MQTT, especially if you buy new products. Stay 1-2 versions (1-2 months) behind the latest version if you are paranoid.
(Same advice goes for updating the firmware of your Zigbee coordinator)

v1.40 is from 2024 - 2 years older than the SONOFF product. It's expected it won't work well.
Some devices use only standard Zigbee commands/clusters, and they work by default in Z2M, even if "not supported". Others use custom commands and need specific implementation.

v2.0 is a major version with "breaking" changes, so read the release notes before you update. You may need to change your automations to match new formats
