What's XPEssence ?

XPEssence is a mod for Minecraft 1.8.9 adding multiple new items, blocks and mechanics based on experience (yes, that green bar with levels on it). You won't find any complex machinery or overpowered tools and armors, but some fun items to play with.

How to get started

Starting with XP Essence is quite easy. Your first goal is to find some Experience Gems. And fortunately for you, they just drop from random mobs ! So let's loot three of them. An alternative solution is to craft [Empty Crystals](https://github.com/KyneSilverhide/XPEssence/wiki/Empty Crystals), and use them to transfer experience from your character to the crystals. This will automatically make Experience Gems

The next step is to cut some grass to find Devitalized Seeds. One is enough. Once you have acquired these two type of items, you can build an Experience Infuser. This looks like a furnace, but it will use Experience Gems as fuel.

Put your Devitalized Seeds in the top slot, and one gem in the bottom slot to infuse your seeds into Experience Seeds. You can now start to grow some Experience Gems (on regular farmland)!

What's next?

For now, not much. You can consume Experience Seeds to gain XP, combine in a 3x3 pattern to craft an Experience Block (it has the same power as bookshelves when used near enchanting tables, but it also provides a bit of light). You can also use your Experience Infuser to craft Experience Glass, that can also be transformed into glass panes. These blocks are purely decoratives and can be used in any of your build. You can also create some Experience Torchs. They are similar to vanilla torch, but green.

Lastly, you can also craft an Experience Crucible. This machine will convert any Experience Gems or Experience Blocks into Liquid Experience. Source blocks will slowly convert dirt and grass blocks (in a 6x6 radius) into podzol and farmland.
